Domestic Cherry

Prunus serotina (or black cherry) stands alone for its commercial value as a lumber wood and is found primarily along the Eastern United States.

Often referred to as "New England Mahogany" it is one of the most beautiful of all hardwoods. Classic color and mellow warmth. Ideal for fine furniture and casework. Heartwood is red-tan. Some whitish sapwood is allowed.
